This is a collection of the author’s choice from his An Peann Coitianta 1997-2003 column, not previously published in book form. This collection is a reworking of some of his most memorable pieces ranging from street life to mountain bogs, from satire to tragedy, from hurling fields to back gardens, wrought in a range of linguistic styles from the classic to contemporary creoles.
Also included is a comprehensive essay on his own experience as a columnist and creative writer. The author wrote a weekly column for The Irish Times from 1989 to 2003. His two previously published collections of these columns, An Peann Coitianta (1991) and An Peann Coitianta 2 (1997) have proved very popular with readers.
He has also published novels, and collections of poetry and drama.
